Core Story Facilitator Certification

Eligibility Requirements

Please read the Core Story Facilitator Eligibility Requirements carefully before proceeding with your application.

Licensed Mental Health Professionals

Qualifying mental health professionals must hold an active, independent license to practice in their state or province. Eligible license types include but are not limited to:

  • Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)

  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)

  • Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)

  • Licensed Psychologist (PhD / PsyD)

  • Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC)

  • Psychiatrist (MD / DO)

  • Advanced Practice Registered Nurse with a psychiatric mental health specialization (APRN / PMHNP)

Coaches

Qualifying coaches must be actively engaged in a professional coaching practice and working directly with clients in a coaching capacity. An active, established coaching practice is sufficient for eligibility — no specific coaching credential is required.

Leaders & Organizational Professionals

Qualifying leaders include pastors, organizational executives, HR professionals, educators, and community leaders who are actively working with individuals or teams in a guidance, development, or mentorship capacity.

Pre-Licensed or Provisionally Licensed Mental Health Professionals

Pre-licensed clinicians who are actively pursuing full licensure and working under the supervision of an independently licensed mental health professional are welcome to apply and will follow the same curriculum as all other participants.

Graduate Students

Graduate students enrolled in a Master's or Doctoral program in a mental health field — including Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychology, Psychotherapy, Psychiatry, Psychiatric Nursing, or Social Work — are eligible to apply. Students must have completed their core academic coursework and be in the practicum or internship portion of their program. Graduate students will follow the same Core Story Facilitator curriculum as all other participants.

A Note on Advanced Certification

Upon completing the Core Story Facilitator Certification, licensed mental health professionals have the option to pursue the Core Story Practitioner (CSP) designation — a more distinguished credential that recognizes your clinical licensure and deeper scope of practice.
