UNIT III: Core Story Mapping

In this unit, you will begin by mapping your own story while listening to the Core Story questions. This personal experience is an important part of the training and helps you develop a deeper understanding of how mapping supports awareness, insight, and reflection.

Next, you will practice mapping the story of a friend or volunteer. These experiences will help you grow more confident with the questions, symbols, and relationship patterns while deepening your personal understanding of the process.

Learning Goals:

By the end of this unit, you should be able to:

  • Begin to identify your own Core Beliefs, Core Lies, Core Wounds, and Core Truth

  • Become more familiar with how to draw the symbols and relationship patterns used in the Core Story Process

  • Begin developing confidence in listening, asking questions, and mapping a story in real time

What’s Included in this Unit:

  • Section 1: Map Your Own Story
Watch the video and listen to the Core Story questions. Pause the video after each question and begin mapping your own story as you respond.

  • Section 2: Practice Mapping with a Friend or Volunteer
After you have mapped your own story, ask a friend or volunteer to watch Mapping Your Own Story with you. As they respond to the Core Story questions, practice listening carefully and mapping their story. Repeat this process until you feel ready to begin asking the questions yourself while mapping another person’s story.
